Disabled bay fine (not private car park)

I accidentally parked in a disabled space on the road (my fault obviously- it didn't have the wheelchair user painted in the space but did have writing before it, which I didn't notice because I pulled straight in as someone pulled out- ironically because I was waiting on double yellows for a space & wanted to get out of the way!). I was out of the car for a minute and came back to a warden, who said that parking in a disabled bay carries a £70 fine. I apologised and she said 'ok just move quickly'. So I'm not actually sure whether or not I've been issued with the fine. If I had been, would she have given me anything/asked for my details, or does everything come through the post using my car reg? If so, when should I expect to receive it and what are the time limits on paying?
Thanks for any advice you can give!

Pepipoo.com is the place to ask re council penalties, however I think you're probably ok. You would have received a yellow penalty notice. As you weren't issued with anything, I don't think you have received a penalty.Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. Some Councils can issue 'reg 10' postal PCNs afterwards, and some sneaky CEOs issue 'ghost' PCNs which they throw away but pretend were served... So if you get a postal PCN (within a couple of weeks), or a Notice to Owner later (within a month or two, most likely), post about it on pepipoo (WITH PHOTOS OR SCANS OF THE PAGES OF THE DOCUMENT!) and they'll almost certainly help you to win the appeal:JoRowlingRocks wrote: »I accidentally parked in a disabled space on the road (my fault obviously- it didn't have the wheelchair user painted in the space but did have writing before it, which I didn't notice because I pulled straight in as someone pulled out- ironically because I was waiting on double yellows for a space & wanted to get out of the way!). And BTW on street disabled bays NEVER have a wheelchair symbol painted on the road!

You are muddling them up with car park versions which often do have a wheelchair symbol.
Bottom line - if ever you get a PCN then appeal it. Pepipoo help with Council & private tickets (end even speeding tickets) and we help everyone who gets a private PCN.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
