So two people can't be bothered to check what they're authorising or look properly at their statements, then start shouting that it's all somebody else's fault. Take some responsibility for your own actions and inactions, you might be successful in getting some or all of the money back but really neither of you deserve it.
I don't agree with this at all. If these people were 'savvy' they would likely not enter into one of these stores at all.
If you don't know exactly what you are doing, you can easily be lead astray.
It looks as if these two have been victims. I'm sure that there are many others.
That place should be put out of it's misery.0 -
I look at my statements but thought it related to something else so yes perhaps I'm at fault to some degree but I still feel they acted covertly and fraudulently
They have scammed me for 2 years ! I never agreed to it & never signed anything . Have called them & they said its my fault they offered to give me 3 months payments back as good will , but I'm not happy with that, it's fraud IMHO so I'm going to make a fuss . I will never buy from Currys PC world again even though I've bought everything from them in the past0 -

If that doesn't work, you can try and argue it with your credit card provider.
this seems to be perfect advice to me.
have to say that i wouldn't have missed the payments leaving my account for 4 years though:silenced:0 -
Anytime I purchased item. From PC World/Currys. The counter receipt showed if I purchased product care/cover plan. Normally 1st payment for cover plan is applied at point of sale. Sometimes sales staff provide 1st month free. That is also shows up on your receipt as a discount.
As others have said send them a letter hopefully they will redund the money to you.0 -
The idea that this is some kind of scam by the merchant is holed at the waterline by the fact that 99.99%, or more, of people would spot the outgoing charges from their CC.
It would be a very ineffective method of generating income given the resources that would be required to deal with the subsequent refund that 99.99% of people who check their CC statements and spot it would demand.
Persuading anyone that you would not have noticed a monthly payment clearly shown on every credit card statement you received over 4 years will not be easy.Optimists see a glass half full
Pessimists see a glass half empty
Engineers just see a glass twice the size it needed to be0 -

You should be grateful that you have this forum to check companies out. Don't be so arrogant!! Just because you are not on the receiving end of the scam. You need to learn to be sympathetic. I don't even know why you bother to register with this forum. People who were already upset and frustrated does not need you to add fuel to the fire0 -

You walk out of the store with a receipt and paperwork detailing the transaction you've just made and then 4 years later start shouting scam0 -
reading courses are good, they do detail them on reciptsDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
