UEL keeps asking for more tuition fees

Options
Hi, I am wondering if anybody has some advice on how to deal with this. My wife has registered for a post graduate course (MBA) in Jan 2013 at the University of East London. Before she even started in February we found out that she was pregnant, so we asked if she can take a semester off and rejoin the next term once the baby was delivered. The MBA programme director at that time (Osman Khan) confirmed that this is possible and that all we need to do is to fill out a form, and no extra charges will apply. We paid the student fees (total of £11400) in full. We had our baby in the fall and my wife tried to rejoin in January 2014 for the next term. At that time the previous Programme director moved away and a new programme director (Mr. Paolo) was running the MBA programme. He changed the curriculum and course structure, but assured us that this wont impact us, but that the necessary courses will for my wife to complete her MBA will be offered over two terms rather than in that January term. The finance department contacted us and they asked to get more money off us, as their tuition fees had been raised in January. After a long debate (unfortunately only verbally), we agreed to pay it (£826) but were assured that this will cover the full remaining MBA programme as long as she completes the necessary modules by January 2015. The following 6 month dissertation will be included in that price and not be charged in 2015. Its September now, time for re-enrollment into the fall semester and the finance department is now asking for a further £2500 as the total fees we paid so far did not cover the new class structure the now third programme director of the Business school introduced. My wife is not allowed to get enrolled without paying the additional fees. My wife spoke to her student colleagues, and they all paid a total of £12000 for their 2014/15 course, we paid £12250 so far and with the additional costs will have paid for close to £15000, which I think is unreasonable. The problem we seem to have is that we keep getting tossed backwards and forwards and that the finance department itself cannot agree what we have to pay. They refuse to explain why we had to pay the full fees in 2013 if the yearly fees are around £6000 which should be paid per year and allows them to raise their costs on a yearly basis, nor why we keep being asked to pay more money. That is extortion. What can we do? Is there something we can do to get this sorted? We have very little in writing, at least nothing with regard to that the payment of £826 in march of this year will cover the rest of the MBA. I am sure that if we pay the additional money, that in January that school will try to get more money for the dissertation. we could have gone to a more prestigious school for this amount of money, which we are struggling to pay for.
Any advice?
