Looking at the Land Registry Alerts service today, I went through the T+C and noticed that HM Land Registry "we will provide personal information details if a request is made by a third party asking who has a property alert set up against specific registered title numbers."

It doesn't say which personal details, or how they verify that the person who is asking for - in effect - your personal details is actually entitled to do so. I find this very puzzling. Does that mean that anyone asking for the name address and phone number of the person/s who have a property alert registered will be given that information? I can see how that would be useful for the OWNER to know, but how do they establish that the asker is the owner? Otherwise that looks like a potential security leak.

It's also a bit weird that anyone can monitor any property. I wonder how that adds to the security of the property?

    Does anyone have any experience?
