Hi. Planning on getting an iPhone 5S/6 but i need help in suggestions for alternative apps with:
1. Music Player - One that has custom or user-defined equaliser settings, ability to transfer/receive files from a Macbook via wifi, Twitter or Facebook share options, add Playlists on-the fly, deleting songs on-the fly and some other sound-enhacing features.
2. Ringtones - I'm looking for an app that lets you assign an MP3 file as a ringtone without the use of iTunes.
3. Video player - A good media player that plays excellent movies with various media format compatibility?
4. Photo sharing - I'm looking for an app that has good and simple editing tools and at the same time has the ability to share to more services directly & on-the-fly to Google Drive, Dropbox, Email, etc.?
Please advice. Thanks.

Video MX Player if its available for Apple .
Ringtones RingtoneMaker if available for Apple .
Music Player Poweramp but not sure about it transferring to Twitter .
Picasa might be worth looking at for pictures .
You are best to read the Apple Store for your apps .0 -

As an Apple fan, I tend to agree with this...
Only non-Apple thing I use in the same ballpark as what you talk about it that I use Downcast instead of the Podcast app.
ITunes will sync and update your phone wirelessly when the phone is plugged in if you set it to...
to answer your points
1. Music Player - One that has custom or user-defined equaliser settings, ability to transfer/receive files from a Macbook via wifi, Twitter or Facebook share options, add Playlists on-the fly, deleting songs on-the fly and some other sound-enhacing features. - The music player has a whole range of EQ settings, albeit not an actual equaliser. Would you not be better buying a headphone amp if you can really tell that much difference? As mentioned wireless syncing from iTunes is possible, on the fly playlists (as well as genius playlists) and ability to delete music...
2. Ringtones - I'm looking for an app that lets you assign an MP3 file as a ringtone without the use of iTunes. - I don't know of any phone apps but they're easy made in iTunes...
3. Video player - A good media player that plays excellent movies with various media format compatibility? - I guess this depends on what you think are excellent movies and what you think are average or poor movies. I like Pulp Fiction, you may hate it.
I'm being pedantic. When it comes to quality of video, it's a phone, it has limitations, but it will take mp4 files and as long as they are reasonable quality they look fine on the screen. I used to use Handbrake to convert DVD files for my iphone 4 and 5, I now put that stuff on my ipad mini, using the same settings in handbrake, but things still look great on the bigger ipad mini screen
4. Photo sharing - I'm looking for an app that has good and simple editing tools and at the same time has the ability to share to more services directly & on-the-fly to Google Drive, Dropbox, Email, etc.? - Photo app has simple editing tools that seem ok. Cant say ive ever taken a photo on my iphone that needs editing to be put onto canvas, it's a phone, I use my DSLR for more serious photography... photos can be sent by email, shared to twitter, facebook, I imagine dropobox if I had the app installed, icloud, I imagine google drive too if you have it installed?0 -
How is wireless syncing from iTunes possible?
Also, there is no Picasa app on iTunes. MX player is there but the reviews are not so good. Ringtone maker is also there but hasn't been updated for iOS8 yet.0 -

By the magic of wifi
For photos you also have PhotoShop Express and probably a couple of hundred more including many that combine photography and editing like Camera+0 -
Sat down and tried finding apps that involve "wifi file transfer" and what i found are some low-quality, poor reviews apps or apps that doesn't work.
Heard of Instashare that is both available on the Mac App Store and the regular Apple App Store but costs £2.49 (just for wireless transfer? Jeez!) and i still have no actual iPhone to try it on.
And even if OS X Yosemite is available now there will probably be bugs in the first few days/weeks of it.0 -
You dont need an app for wireless syncing with iTunes, its built into the OS hence you wont find apps
There are media players that also allow wireless transfer of files into the phone. VLC for example can http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-ios.html
For non-media files you obviously have DropBox, Apple's own iDrive and Google Drive to name but a few. DropBox is the only one I've used of the three (iDrive is new with iOS8) and it is fairly heavily integrated once you install it. Assume the others are, iDrive potentially even more so, but havent used them0 -
I could not find VLC for iOS online or the App store. All i can see are "streamers" app which to my knowledge are not media player.
Also, when i had my 5C i was able to find my old apps (from the days i had an iPad 2). Would they still be on the App store? Can i re-download them for my 5S/6?0
