Boiler operation on economy 7 meter

hello!

I have a Santon PremierPlus Direct Unvented Hot Water Cylinders set up in my new flat.

As of now, my electric meter is flat rate, and I am thinking to move to economy 7 to cut costs.

However, I am not sure, how can I configure my boiler to use electricity only during the low rate time slab.

Any pointers please.

  • First thing is to make you know the exact times of the switchovers. You cant go on the times quoted by the supplier. The timerswitches vary in their accuracy. RadioTeleswitches are more or less correct to within 5 mins but the old analogue 24 timers the 7 hours could be anywhere in the 24 hrs. Even the digital meters with built in clocks are drifting around a bit. I`ve found them up to an hour out. They are all set at GMT and dont adjust for BST.
