The misplaced sense of loyalty, sentiment, loss, and frustration does fade after a while though.

I'd been with ING since they started in the UK, but saw the way they were heading and shipped out in Jan 2006 (leaving £1 in 'just in case' :D). I finally got round to formally closing the account a couple of months ago.
I started to move my money around 6 or 7 months before you did(I think). Even before ING refused to pass on the full boe rise they had dipped their toes in by progressively not matching the rises in the previous years. Initially putting up rates by 0.20% then 0.15%, 0.10% etc you get the idea. That set up enough alarm bells for me to get out of there!

    love the original post lol

i too have an ING account. but i do still use it. i have an hisave account for unallocated savings but i do use the ING for the little bit of money i tuck away each week into the ten pots saving for school uniform, clothing, car tax etc...

i know i wont get much interest on this money but i like the little pots so i can keep proper track of everything:D and to be honest money moves in and out of this account frequently.

thats just my take on why i still am with ING, however, i wouldnt stick my once a month lumpsum savings in there.
