Would appreciate hearing from someone that's had a similar experience.
applied for a new credit card to take advantage of the 0% balance transfer deal. Unfortunately missed out on the deal as I mislaid my card in the house, eventually found it - too late to take advantage of the balance transfer - did not realise there was a time limit on the offer. Silly me. Never used the card.
I am worried that if I keep this card that I wont be offered as good a deal again with this bank. Should I close the account and start search again?

Have you spoken to them about getting the window reopened as a guesture of goodwill even if the interest free period is reduced a month or so to recognise the late transfer?0

Ask them nicely (as they get nothing from the card if you don't use it vs a fee if you do BT)
If not, cancel it, wait a few months for CRA to pick it up being closed and your available credit is back to how it was before (check noddle for free) and then apply for a new one (not same bank)Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
