Wiring a 2 way light switch pain

Hello I wonder if anyone can help me.
I have the standard lightswitch set up - downstairs a 2 gang that controls hall light and upstairs light, and upstairs, a 1 gang that also controls the upstairs light.
The downstairs switch looks like this:

The upstairs switch looks like this:

Now I've bought some lightwave RF switches to replace them with. The manual is short and has these instructions which include a nice diagram:
http://www.thesmartshop.co.uk/upload/pdf/JSJSLW450_slavedimmer_manual.pdf
There are warnings all over it that say if you put mains into the middle port then it will blow up the switch, and these things cost me loads of money so I am really nervous.
All the wires in this blasted house seem to have the worst colour coding I have ever seen.
Is anyone able to offer me any guidance or is this a specialist job for an electrician?
Any help is so much appreciated

It's doable but will take ages to type out I'm afraid - get a spark out will take them less than an hour.pvoutput.org/intraday.jsp?id=39350&sid=359520

How are you getting on with the Lightwave RF switches? I am waiting for our electrician to come as I want all our light switches changed to them. (I have already got a set of plugin lightwaverf sockets).
Have you replaced all your bulbs also? I have looked at the dimmable LED bulbs but am hoping that the electrician can get them cheaper than I can. It appears that E14 dimmable LEDs are hard to find.Ditch 100 in January Challenge 100/100

Thank you, yes. And they have golf ball as well as the candle ones. :j
The downside is that I need 9 of them (that is presuming that 2 of my rooms have compatible bulbs) - why did I previously buy light fittings with multiple bulbs.
My quest to have an automated house is becoming very expensive :eek:Ditch 100 in January Challenge 100/100

The colour coding looks ok to me, only it looks like whoever wired it originally used red/black instead of red/red on circuit C.0

Also the switch boxes need to be 25mm deep it looks light you only have the 16mm switch boxes.0

Using red/black i believe is allowed but the black cable should be have a red sleeve over it at both ends.0
