I used Bluebuild 2 years ago to install 16 photovoltaic panels on my roof, purchased by myself. The whole process was first class and I should be able to shortly confirm that the income generated from the panels will cancel out the annual electric bill for the first 12 months eligibility.

I used Bluebuild based in Bangor - Baloo - and as far as I know they are one and the same company.

I think these are great systems but I also think the technology needs to develop further before we see short term benefits. At the moment, even though IrishJohn isn't having to pay an electric bill this year in real terms, it'll probably be ten years before he gets all his money back and that's a long time to wait for value. Unless you can afford to lay that money out for ten years.

In one way I agree with you Spotty - but I see this as a long term investment with the return over a 20 year period which is the length of the contract the payments I will receive for generating electricity. It worked out a better return than putting the money into fixed rate savings.

Anything would work out a better return than putting the money into fixed rate savings at the rates those blood suckers are offering !! :D
  • Installed solar panels last year. Price around as they may not be cheapest. we got from Green Energy Store in Bangor. They were good and we are very pleased with panels. Was a good year to have them installed as long summer and return looking good.
