in Credit cards
Please advise
I am buying 2 flight tickets for dd and gd to travel from NZ to UK, daughter will arrange via travel agent in NZ and I will pay.
What is the best way to pay? Credit card is 2% surcharge.
I have Post Office card also Tesco card (points on this one) I trust that I would pay in NZ dollars.

The best best way is to pay with a debit card that doesn't charge for currency conversion, but there are only a few that don't: full overseas cards charges
From your cards the PO one is the best as Tesco (both credit and debit) charge 2.75% for conversion.0 -
Also double check it isnt cheaper for you to buy them here and thus pay in sterling etc. Normally its cheapest to buy return flights in the country of origin but there are exceptions.0

Thanks for responses, the country of origin will be NZ. I want daughter to select best flights but I have given the travel agent a Kayak quote and asked her to get close to the price. I've got Halifax - not clarity, First Direct and Santander debit cards or I could do a bank transfer from Halifax or Santander accounts.:hello:0

For a bank transfer consider transferring money to your daughter in NZ:
https://www.fxcompared.com/Content/money-transfer-from-UK-New%20Zealand-below-3000-amount-1000
It will cost you ~1% (see http://www.oanda.com/currency/converter/ for the interbank rate)0 -
Also be aware that some airlines insist on seeing (at check-in) the credit / debit card on which the booking was made, and that it belongs to one of the travelling party.
I could'nt pay for my wife's flight with Emerates on my card because I was not travelling at the same time as her.0
