Hi
the previous occupier of my address going back 9 years is still receiving bank statements to my address so Halifax still have this person registered at my address despite me owning the home through a mortgage with halifax. I have sent letters back saying not known at this address and the only way to remove him is by them contacting him by phone which i suspect will be 9 years out of date.
I've been told that his name and credit will not impact on mine despite his name registered through Halifax to my address but what i'm not convinced on is that where everyone scores things differently, the way that Halifax will score me to credit reference agencies for them to pass on to any lender, bank or credit card will not be affected.
Can anyone confirm how i stand?
thank you

Your credit file is specific to you as an individual not an address.
His credit file will not affect your ability to get credit.
The only other people who may affect your ability to get credit are people shown as financial associates on your credit files (that is people you have or had a joint credit account with).A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
If they keep coming after being returned unknown have a moan at the halifax
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
