Plumbing Crisis

Last week I had the misfortune to have a major leak in the shower in my ensuite. It was so bad that water was dripping into the lounge through the plasterboard. I phoned around several plumbers and one said it was probably the silicone around the drain that needed redone. He quoted me £30, I said that was fine and he did the job. He was in and out in 5 minutes.
Resealing the drain did not fix the problem and I had to have a builder come in to tear down my lounge ceiling to fix the problem which as it turned out was due to the fact that whoever fitted the shower did not put any rubber seals in the plumbing joints which is causing the water to seep through as it's not watertight. The builder is charging £120 to fix everything which I am happy to pay as he's been fantastic.
However today I got a statement in from the original plumber for £70 when I was quoted and assured it was £30. £70 for 5 minutes work which didn't even fix my problem is extremely steep!
Any advice on what I should do? I'm furious that I was misled and feel I've been conned.

If he quoted £30 and you paid him, end of.
Write to him reminding him that the contract is now finalised and you will not be entering into any further discussion with him.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0
