SHOCKING! Avis charging me £370 for being 5 minutes late!

    I just want to follow this thread up and say Avis just got back to me offering a full refund. I actually spoke the lady on the desk who told me the rental starts from the moment I pick the car up. Someone else told me it coul have happened because it was a weekend rental and as I went into 'weekly' rates, that's why one day extra was so high. Either way, I'm very happy and will continue to use Avis. Just need to make sure I always return the car on time :) Thanks for everyone's help :)

    I saw Watchdog on BBC last week and Avis were getting slated for various sharp practices.
