Options
can anyone advise if this seems about right ? we are in the north east and the quote is for the removal of current non load bearing wall next to staircase and lounge, which contains double socket, 3 light switches and a thermostat, which will all require relocation.
installation of new wall approximately 90cm adjacent of old wall to create hallway on stairs and fit new door opening, door and door fixtures to lounge.
then knock through of new corridor into existing kitchen (this will require re-location or removal of radiator) creating new door opening door and door fixtures to kitchen, and board up 2 x old doorways one old lounge door the other old under stairs cupboard door in kitchen.
Finish kitchen wall to skimmed plaster.
knock through under stairs cupboard from new corridor creating new door opening door and door fixtures to cupboard.
fit new stair furniture, including newel, baluster, and handrail to staircase and 1st floor landing. all works to be completed to current regulations and all electrical work to be signed off and certified on completion.
We have contacted building control who have confirmed no building regulations approval will be required other than the electrical work which must be certified on completion.

We are in the north east and have had quotes between £3500 and £6500 so far ?
