Crash Courses in Sussex / London.

Anyone recommend anyone?

Official DVLA one is like 800 quid!

  • Just get in the car, drive around London, you'll soon crash - no need for a course :D

Avoid any outfit that claims they're "official DVLA" like the plague - DVLA don't run ANY driver training directly, let alone intensive short courses.

    Got a link?
  • If I were a driving school, I'd think twice before advertising a 'crash course'.

Just seems like a branding fail of epic proportions, that.
  • DVLA deal with driver and vehicle licensing, not driver training. That is the job of the DSA (or whatever it is now).

DSA don't actually run or approve of any training, either. They just run the tests.

I didn't say they did. They set the standards and look after the tests.

Nor did I say you did.

I'm merely clarifying that any instructor claiming they're "official DSA" (or DVLA) is a misleading shonky shark, and therefore to be avoided like the plague. Reputable instructors don't need that kind of trick.

For 40 hours instruction, that's £20 an hour. If you find an instructor charging less than that in London, avoid him!

If it's a 30-hour course, it's £26.66 an hour (probably less if the £800 also includes books or DVDs or other extras), which is reasonable..

You may get the one that was on the bailiff TV show. Stopped him for non payment of fines.

Was he uninsured also? AND.... he was carrying a knife...
