1. By entering this competition you confirm your availability to travel to Hong Kong in June 2015 and stay for 3 nights between 25th June to 28th June 2015 (Hong Kong time). This has not taken the travel time between London and Hong Kong into considerations.
2. By entering this competition you allow us to use your name, itinerary, itinerary assets and general location details to announce you as a participant or the winner (if you were to win) of this Competition; within Facebook and any other Channels related to this Promotion.
3. The Prize Draw closes at 13:00 on 9th December 2014. Entries received after that date and time will not be considered.

1. Three (3) winners will be chosen from a random draw of all valid entries (upon the Competition’s closing) on 9th December 2014.
2. The first name randomly drawn from the valid entries after the closing date will be the Grand Prize Winner who will receive a trip for up to four persons (the name drawn and up to three people that the Grand Prize Winner tagged on Facebook when entering into the Prize Draw; please refer to clause 30 and clause 32 for detail of the selection of travel companions) to Hong Kong with return flights in Premium Economy Class with Cathay Pacific Airlines from London Heathrow to Hong Kong, three nights at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Hong Kong on a twin-share basis, including breakfast and round trip airport transfers on hotel limousine in Hong Kong.
3. The Grand Prize also includes 4 VIP tickets to attend the Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival and a dinner for 4 people excluding wine and drinks to the value of HKD 8,000 at the Pierre restaurant at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Hong Kong as well as a full or half day Discover Hong Kong Tour.
4. All other incidental expenses including travel to and from Heathrow, other meals apart those included in the Grand Prize and drinks etc and any other costs of a personal nature not specifically stated in these Terms & Conditions are the responsibility of the Grand Prize Winner.
5. All incidentals such as usage of The Spa, In Room Dining, Mini Bar, Internet, other food and beverage related charges, etc. incurred at Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong and during the stay in Hong Kong will be the responsibility of the Grand Prize Winner.
6. The Grand Prize Winner and his/her travelling companions are also responsible for their own travel insurance and any visas and inoculations that may be required to visit Hong Kong. The travel companions must be over 21 years of age and all passengers must hold a valid passport with at least 6 months validity remaining on the date of the return trip from Hong Kong. HKTB and the prize sponsors accept no responsibility for any costs not specifically included in the Grand Prize.
7. The Grand Prize flights include taxes, fees and charges. Travel must be completed by 29thJune 2015.The Grand Prize Winner and his/her travelling companions must travel both the outbound and inbound journeys together and all the components of the Grand Prize must be taken together.
8. The flight tickets are on confirmed basis and valid for outbound travel from London Heathrow to Hong Kong at 20:15 on 24th June 2015 and return travel to London Heathrow from Hong Kong at 00:35 on 29th June 2015 (Hong Kong time). Grand Prize Winner and his/her companions are required to arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before departure, this means for the return journey from Hong Kong to London Heathrow, the Grand Prize Winner and his/her travel companions will have to be at the airport in the evening on 28th June 2015 (Hong Kong time).
9. Should the Grand Prize Winner choose to extend their duration in Hong Kong, there may be some flexibility regarding the return flight date. The Grand Prize Winner should liaise with Cathay Pacific directly and be aware that any changes to the return flight will be subject to embargo periods and seat availability. Additional costs may be charged to the Grand Prize Winner if applicable.
10. In line with the EU Directive Denied Boarding Compensation is not applicable on free of charge tickets.
11. The tickets are valid on Cathay Pacific Airways operated flights (CX) only.
12. The second and third names to be randomly drawn from the valid entries will each receive a pair of vouchers to be redeemed against a designated cookery class at School of Wok at , 61 Chandos Place, Covent Garden, London WC2N 4HG. Voucher redemption is subject to availability and will be valid until 30 December 2015
13. During the course of the promotion the following spot prizes will be awarded at random and each valid entry can win more than one spot prize:
    1. 2 sets of celebrity chef Ching-He Huang’s chopsticks – one per each draw
    2. 3 cookery books – one per each draw
14. Receipt of one or more of these Spot Prizes will not preclude the Spot Prize Winners from being entered into the draw for the Grand Prize or to win one of the vouchers for School of Wok.
15. All the winners will be notified by phone or email on or before 12 December 2014 and given details of how to claim their prizes. If the winners (as the case may be) do not respond to HKTB within 72 hours of being notified by HKTB, then the winner’s prize (as the case may be) will be forfeited and HKTB shall be entitled to select another winner (as the case may be) by another random draw and that winner (as the case may be) will have to respond to the phone call or email from HKTB within 72 hours (of that prize draw) or else they will also forfeit their prize. HKTB will provide the personal data of the winners to the prize sponsors on a confidential basis for the purpose of the redemption of the prizes.
16. Details of the winners can be obtained by sending a stamped addressed envelope to the following address: Hong Kong Tourism Board, 6/F, Mutual House, 70 Conduit Street, London, W1S 2GF.
17. The prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and is not redeemable for cash or other prizes.
18. Should the Grand Prize Winner choose his/her 3 other travel companions to be different from those friends invited/tagged on Facebook at the time of entering the Prize Draw, it is the Grand Prize Winner’s responsibility to agree with the travel companions. Neither HKTB nor the prize sponsors would be held responsible for the Grand Prize Winner’s selection of his/her travel companions.
19. Once the Grand Prize Winner has responded within the time frame and accepted the Grand Prize, he/she will have to submit the name of the other travel companions (up to 3 persons) to HKTB within 28 working days from time of response to HKTB. All names submitted are non-exchangeable and non-transferable thereafter.
20. The Grand Prize Winner is only allowed to bring up to 3 (three) friends from those he or she tagged/invited on Facebook at the time of entry. For example, if the Grand Prize Winner only tagged 2 friends at the time of entry, he or she will only be able to take 2 travel companions on the prize trip.
21. HKTB has the right to substitute the prize with another prize of similar value in the event the original prize offered is not available.
22. As a condition of entry the Grand Prize Winner must agree and procure his/her travel companions to agree to take part in promotional and/or social media activity, which may include being filmed on part of their visit to Hong Kong and taking part in press interviews.
23. No purchase necessary to enter or win.

The T&C says: The Grand Prize Winner is only allowed to bring up to 3 (three) friends from those he or she tagged/invited on Facebook at the time of entry. For example, if the Grand Prize Winner only tagged 2 friends at the time of entry, he or she will only be able to take 2 travel companions on the prize trip.

But I wasn't given an option to tag anybody and what if your partner isn't on Facebook?

I hope this will be helpful. I asked Discover Hong Kong whether you had to nominate your travelling companions at the time of entry, and they had to be Facebook friends (as indicated by T & Cs in clause 2 of Weeowens' post), so unless your spouse and/or kids were Facebook friends you couldn't take them with you. If I entered without noticing these terms as many would do, would I be forced to travel alone?

I received a very nice reply which I'll copy below:-

"Thank you for your comment. If you win the competition, you will be able to select any 3 people to go with you. They do not have to be your Facebook friends, or even have Facebook accounts. Also, sharing your Perfect Day on Facebook is optional – you will be able to take 3 people along even if you don’t share (although sharing gives your friends a chance to win and they might take you if they do, so we recommend sharing!) However, please bear in mind that your companions have to be 21 and above, so if your daughter is under 21 she would not be able to join you. We hope this helps. Please feel free to contact us if you have any other questions. Good luck!"

I hadn't seen clause 5 at time of writing. I doubt that would be the quickest way of getting a response!

I have to say that 14, 30 and 32 seem somewhat contradictory to me, but for myself I'm going to stick with the personal reply I got and keep a copy just in case I win and need it.
