Where will PPI refund be payed in to?

Have just had a complaint upheld with RBS, just wondered where it would be paid in to?
I am due PPI premiums plus 8% redress back on an old loan I had on my personal RBS account. I also however have a joint account in its OD with my husband and wondered if it will they cancel this debt or receive a cheque.
Has anyone else had success with RBS? If so did they receive a cheque or did it cancel out other outstanding debts?
Just wondered as having the free money to clear credit card debt would be more beneficial than losing the OD on the joint account.

Thanks in advanced.

If the account the complaint was linked to is still active then it will be paid into that. Otherwise, I would expect you to receive a cheque rather than be paid into an unrelated account.

To be certain, you'll have to ask the bank.
