Washing Machine that doesn't take forever.

My Bosch Washing Machine has died, its probably 8+ years old so I can't really complain.
It would wash a full load of clothes in about 1h 15min, or less if only at 40degrees.
Most new machines seem to take in excess of three hours to do the same job, all to get the A++ rating :-(
Is there such a thing as a quick washing machine these days?
I can't be waiting three hours between loads!

My LG is about 1hr 20 for a full 40c 1200 spin wash, or 40 mins for a quick 40c 1200 wash. Longest that I use regularly is the 60c was which is about 2hr 10.
I agree, I couldn't be doing with waiting for 3hrs, that's ridiculous, you'd only get one load washed and dried in a day this time of year.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
Our bosch has a 'speed' setting as well as eco so the same wash can be one hour (speed), 2ish hours (normal) or 3+ hours (eco)
It also has a timer so it can be set to finish up to 24 hours in advance.0 -
Our Bosch takes 2.5 hours for a normal 40 degree wash, but to be honest the 1 hour quick wash is normally good enough and there is even a 15 min super quick wash which I have used for a sort of thorough rinse which is a handy feature."We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0

I think its the washing powder manufacturers who tell the washing makers how long to set programs for.
I have a Miele and and its 40 mins to do a 40 degree wash but machine is over 20 years old and still going strong. No rust and looks just like it has came out of the shop.I got fed up with washing machines breaking down and just paid double the amount for Miele and well worth it, plus have Miele dishwasher and thats a similar age0 -
Don't be fooled by the headline time and capacities look at the manuals for a standard mixed 40 wash most bosch take about an hour.
what's wrong with the machine it may be fixable parts should be available.0 -
You hit the nail on the head with your first post, it's all been down to the greenies and getting A to the 10th ratings.
So look at it this way, auto washers were designed to avoid you doing the washing.
Don't sit around waiting for that 3 hours of economy, it shouldn't be an issue get on with something else, enjoy yourself even.
You could always buy a twin tub or even a wash board and mangle,:A:AI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
New Meile machines also take hours now, as I have just found out , it does have a 20 minute quick wash, I really wish I had though to look up wash times .0

I have just bought a whirlpool and it has a 15 minute wash for small loads and a 40 degree mixed load (8 kg load) takes 50 minutes with a 1400 spin. I love Whirlpool it was less than £300 and if you want I can look up the model number.
This is it and I bought it from this site:

My Bosch has options ranging from a 15 minute quick wash at 30° (20 minutes for 40°) to a 45 minute easy care wash right up to a 3 hour long wash. Having a quick look on the Bosch website, they do offer machines that shorter cycles.0

Modern machines are all cold fill, so inevitably have longer wash cycles.
Why not just fix your Bosch, since spares should certainly be available for a machine only 8 years old-what is actually wrong with it?No free lunch, and no free laptop0
