Hello all. I wondered if anybody on here had experience of living with a roof window of the following type / style.
http://www.sunpipe.co.uk/sunpipe/domestic/index.php
http://www.solaskylights.com/st.html
As you can see it is not a velux - where I need one it is not an option.
If you have experienced living with one, I would welcome any real life feedback on these.
Thanks

Nice to get a vote of approval - I hope to be able to see on in action, if the supposed local stockist ever answers his phone!
Seriously - much appreciated. It's like the black hole of Calcutta where we intend placing it & its good to get some +ve feedback.
Any other experiences - gratefully received.0 -
I've got a sunpipe in my kitchen - fitted 4 years ago.
I went to their site in Haverhill to see one in action.
At night - you can get moon glow through as well! so don't put one where you want darkness - not a problem on most nights.
Also meant to be totally sealed.......still get a few 'gritty' bits apearing in it!
Very pleased - would recomend.0 -
Fitted a sunpipe in my last house from monodraught....easy to fit aslong as you dont mind getting on the roof and it made a big differance, hope this helps0

All of the posts have helped - thanks a lot.
A good friend of mine is a good, experienced DIYer & has had a quick scan of what would need doing if he fitted it & appears confident he can do it. Good to also hear someone has fitted one.0 -
Just to end the story - I got one and its great and does what it says on the tin.0

Hi. dont suppose you have before and after photos? We're considering getting one of these products fitted in our bathroom. thanks.0

I've also had one fitted about 6 weeks ago.
I was a bit sceptic about them before it was fitted so I opted for a cheap one also it was too difficult at the time to be positioned on the south facing roof so it got positioned on the north face.
I was told this while I was at work, I thought it would no good and that i've just wasted my money.
But I was wrong, it provides so much light to the top of the hallway even the builder that installed it was impressed. He has install the flexi ones before but never a rigid one.
From the outside it looks like a small velux window it doesn't have a big dome top like some of them have.
I opted for the Velux Rigid tube design sunpipe, it was the cheapest rigid tube one I could find. The only problem was it's 350mm diameter pipe.0 -

Sorry for the late reply - its all hectic at the moment.
Sorry but I don't have any before and after photos - however i was impressed enough to get one elsewhere in the house (albeit an 18 inch one this time)
I would recommend them for you.0
