ESA or PIP

Hi,
As I've recently lost my job through ill health I'm trying to make sense of the benefits system.
I'm just wondering if anyone knows if you get ESA and PIP or is it a case of the ESA stopping if you are awarded PIP. Probably only a hypothetical question but would help financial planning calculations if I have all the informaation.
Thanks In Advance

ESA is paid due to you having a health condition which means you find it hard to work / can't work.
PIP is paid if you have care and /or mobility needs.
