Lidl now accepting some credit cards in the UK

See towards the bottom of the page above. They now accept Mastercard & Visa Credit, Debit Cards and contactless payments.

I'm confused about this, I have been using my Mastercard in Lidl for years, I always do when I have a 'hard' purchase rather than just food.

You will, I think, have been using a debit card. Credit cards could not previously be used.

I've been using my santander 123 credit card at our local lidl for over a year now.

From looking at the link, I think they are referring to the fact that they now accept contactless payment which I discovered on a trip to the store recently.

Some stores accepted credit cards before but most didn't. Now they are saying all stores are.

used to be all stores in Scotland & Wales and some in England. Has now been extended to include all stores in England

I have always used credit cards in Lidl and Aldi here in Scotland.
