DVD to PSP conversion

I want to copy some video from dvds on to PSP memory stick. I had a look at some of the stuff available on tucows and download.com - free trials that didn't fully function such as Xoom.

It seems that some of them are quite happy to convert a video file that is already on the hard drive but I need something that will convert both, with as few hassles as possible.
A one or two click solution would be great.

Does anybody have any experience of using these products?

I seen some tonight - 99bytes, xilisoft for example but never heard of these ones before.
There seems to be a multitude to these things around and after a look at afterdawn forums and a search here I'm still undecided on what to go for.
Can anyone guide me through the maze - easy use is the key factor for me but obviously good quality and reasonable price would be good?

If it works out for you, you might like to make a small donation in the future; http://www.mediacoder.cn/donate/

    Entirely voluntary.
  • another shout for mediacoder here, it kicks :)
has preprogramed setting for ipod psp and the like. I used it to convert vids for my ipod and it worked better than a couple of expensive apps that I've tried. ;)

  • Haven't downloaded it yet but I'm happy to donate if it works out.
    Thanks guys.
I looking to have something that hopefully will get things from A to B easily and without "complications".
Do any of you know if this also allows for download of internet video from for example, social networking sites or sites that friends have posted video clips on to? Couldn't see anything about it on the link (maybe I missed it) but reading it seems to imply that it will do most things I would want.

What on earth do you mean? It's a media convertor, not a downloader.

    To clarify-

For example - if a friend posts a video on the internet, I'd occasionally like to download the video and convert it into a format which the PSP recognises.

What I'm wondering is how much of a one stop shop this piece of software is for taking a video from any source and getting it onto the PSP?

That source could be dvd, website, file from hard drive etc.

Some of the software I looked at claims to be able to take video from, for example, you tube or myspace and gets it onto the PSP by downloading and converting. I'm not proposing to break any rules of these sites (I haven't read them anyway) but for the purpose of illustrating what I'm on about -
    For example http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/guides/dvd/convert-YouTube-FLV-video-to-iPod-MP4-video.htm

I didn't see any reference to these functions on the mediacoder website hence the question.
