IKEA Help

Hi All,
In May (11th), I went to Warrington Ikea and paid over £400 for two new wardrobes. When I came to get them, an internal section of the wardrobe was out of stock (the part that enables the itnernal drawers to be built). I was told to order them and they would text me when they came in stock (and I'd have to drive the 100 mile round journey to collect). I was OK with that as the delivery charges were around £40 for my area.
I received no texts for about 4 weeks. I went back to Ikea and was again told that my initial order hadn't been placed and I had to place it again. I did that.
Again, no texts were received. I complained via their website and received emails back saying they had no record again. I had to also return a book case that I had paid over £100 for as it was unsafe with the glass doors it was sold with (the doors were so heavy it kept pulling the cabinet over every time I opened the doors). After about three weeks of to-ing and fro-ing, they said that the internal section of the wardrobe was in stock, I should have been notified and they would send it to me at the same time they would collect the bookcase. I got a phone call from a lady to arrange it, they said they would also send a £20 voucher as an apology. This was in August, so three months later.
The delivery guys turned up at 9am on the Saturday morning and were sat outside for the best part of 40 minutes and then admitted that the part hadn't been loaded onto the van! They also said they couldn't take the bookcase as I hadn't flat-packed it. I showed them the bookcase and neither of them were happy to leave it as it was so unsafe, so they said although they weren't supposed to take it, they would do in this case as it was clearly an accident waiting to happen.
It's now 5 weeks later. They still haven't sorted the internal section of the wardrobe nearly five months later. I still haven't recieved a refund for the bookcase either. I've messaged them on facebook where they simply asked 'what do you want us to do?'!!!
I have also logged another complaint on their website, but had no response.
Can't seem to get anywhere with them. In my latest message I asked them to send someone to dismantle the wardrobes and take them back and I wanted a full refund, but they said I had to dismantle them myself. As I had to pay someone to build them for me and have blocks of wood screwed to the wall to fix them to, I'll have to pay again to have someone dismantle them (they're very heavy and I won't be able to do it myself).
Just can't get them to do anything, or even be bothered!
Any advice or tips?

Which model of bookcase?
I have found that most (if not all) of their bookcase instructions state that the top of the item should be attached to the wall... for that very reason.
Did your instructions not say that?0 -
Hi, no it didn't. Also there was a gap at the bottom of the bookcase for a skirting board but the gap was too small - maybe 2-3" high, so it wouldn't have gone any closer to the wall without a thick baton of wood to screw to the wall, and then screw the bookcase to the baton. As I'm in rented accommodation, I can't go drilling holes into walls or even ruining a new piece of furniture with drills. I did it with the wardrobes, but I wanted to be able to move the bookcase if I need to. I've bought another now, that's better quality (It was also damaged), but still haven't had a refund from Ikea0

If the cutout wouldn't fit your skirting, and if you didn't want to fix it to the wall, then I respectfully suggest that you bought a product which was unsuitable for your purpose.catherineg78 wrote: »Hi, no it didn't. I have just checked and all IKEA bookcases, even the low ones, specify:This furniture must be fixed to the wall with the enclosed wall fastener.

Am I being daft (not for the first time).
Does this say that OP first says that they have attached them to the wall?
Not quite sure what sort of tenancy agreement says you can attach wardrobes to the wall but not bookcases?0
