Love that pic BB :T:T:T I will confess to only having picked tattles once as a child and not through choice :o They were in grandparents garden, so I never got paid either :rotfl::rotfl:
I do remember my grandma telling me about how everyone who was able, including children took to the fields to harvest the potatoes during the war. They were grown anywhere there was space apparently.

that photo is so cute bananababe did not quote it if you want to take it down, my boys loved potato picking for the first half an hour trying to fill a tray up the quickest then get bored,

It was hard work and these days some department would prob be involved for keeping five year old working all day !

Loving the pic BB! How cute were you! :D

I've never heard of tattie holidays, but funny enough that was me yesterday trying to gather them all in before the rain gets to them this afternoon. Only 1 more bag to go! I would attempt to store them properly but there's not a lot of point really, I didn't heap the soil up as much as I could have so there aren't as many as I'd hoped. Very nice though, they're Picasso, £6 a bag for about 25kg at our local farm shop, I just planted the last dozen to see what would happen so I'm counting this lot as freebies :D

Tatties are dear unless you pop by a farm and get them. I used to get sent to my grans a mile away with 55lb bag on my bike !

I have grown quite fond of his daft laugh, :rotfl: I used to hate it but he is like one of the family now I hear him so often. Ds2 is obsessed with Minecraft and stampy in particular
