Well I'm pleased with my M comp. shop this time as it has worked 100%!:T
9 items (8 different) on your bill qualify for comparisonMorrisons
+£3.02
0.19 x ASDA Bananas by Weight per kg£0.13£0.12
1 x ASDA Tenderheart Cabbage£0.49£0.49
2 x ASDA Chosen by You Individual Puff Pastry Steak Pi...£1.32£1.00
1 x ASDA Fresh Tastes Diced Swede (500g)£0.50£0.49
1 x Aunt Bessie's Bramley Apple Pie (550g)£1.50£1.00
1 x Frijj Chocolate Milkshake (471ml)£1.00£0.50
1 x Ye Olde Oak Ham (300g)£1.68£1.00
1 x Quorn Low Fat Sausages (6 per pack - 300g)£1.99£0.99
Comparison total£8.61£5.59
Even though:( I'm paying a little bit more on some items now, as having to get at least eight items and struggling, as trying to restrict it to what we really need and trying to resist buying anything at all:rotfl: (in order to save money) - I know, a lot easier:T for me to resist these emotional attempts to get me to spend:rotfl: - whilst caught in losing 10% off a lot of prices if just bought in A straight and not getting 8 items.
I didn't want to risk the Green Cabbage, so just got the normal Tenderheart. Pies work. I noticed the Diced Carrot/Swede is 450g in M but the Diced Swede is 500g, so thank goodness for my picking up that tiny detail:D, even though I altered the price twice and incorrectly had it originally as 45p when it is 49p, sorry for that mistake folks! I somehow got 10% off in my mind, not the straight M price - I expected, and got, comparison to 49p. Should have had whoopsies though at 10p (or lower) on this but, again, having to get eight items, if I had got whoopsie some other time instead, then I wouldn't have had any APG on this shop at all - not enough items - and then having to get a further item or go down the Haribo route and then giving them 9p more there, it's such a task isn't it?!:(:rotfl: Caught in the middle of all the various upsides and downsides and me seeing every:eek: one of them.
Thought the Bramley Apple pie might be a risk as it did return N/A vs M some while (months, maybe even a year) before. And - do we really really need any Apple Pie at all, as it's a tempting dessert that we could, in theory, live completely without? But, then again, having to get 8 items (not money-saving:() and having to use APGs up - I've got to buy something or spend them on something at some point:rotfl::rotfl::(:rotfl:!
Frijj milkshake too dear (particularly given the weight reduction of several months ago) but, yet again, what else could I buy that gave any decent APG back off the shop? Otherwise I'd be getting items same price vs same price, perhaps 3p APG on a yoghurts pack, total APG back would not even be worthwhile, hardly worth printing, and I'm having to spend to use APGs. I noticed the Milkshakes were (are) now £1.30 in A on msm:T, so would have helped me to spend more (and get more back, but only because of the overspend, but then I'm having to spend). In a way, glad I put a Frijj milkshake on the shop as I wouldn't have noticed the following: the milkshakes showing £1 on shelf, but unfortunately went through at £1, oh well, nothing much lost. A quick rejig of the shop:mad: (:(I do not do 'quick rejigs', and adaptations to unannounced change, very well - but I was prepared for the possibility here, with :rotfl:no idea of how the milkshakes would scan until I reached the checkout, so having to get reserve items in the ready in case they should be needed, longer, complex shopping method - but hey ho...).
I doubt, by now:(, anyone has time to do C&C, if £1 instore but £1.30 on msm. Been and gone by time I get there - story of my (your) life. I picked the Chocolate version as knew that was the 'safest' one vs M - [Strike]think[/Strike] know I saw that comparing earlier.
I was pleased when I saw price of the Ham (works out cheaper (per g.) than Eday Value type) had gone up in A:T:T. Nice help towards voucher spending, and contributes to APG back.
Here it is again though - another one about how people overspend (I mean overspend without recompense). I originally had Linda McCartney sausages on my list. I know - now comparing them to £1 for 300g:eek::eek:, without glitch, really expensive!
The Linda McCartneys at £1.48 in A. The store was OOS though:(. However, I also found that to be quite amusing:rotfl::rotfl: as just shows you how all they need to do is put a r'back sign on and reduce it to £1.48 and lots of people will buy them at that expensive price, especially regular A shoppers, who think it looks good on the quite expensive prices they normally find in A and are unaware that these often go down to £1 in other stores. So, there we are - everyone buying Linda McCartney sausages in A at £1.48:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: - and I doubt many, or even any, of them are doing M comp shops! The price was rolled back - but it doesn't have to be rolled back far, it can still be quite a bit more expensive than cheapest elsewhere! Reminds me of those party accessory - what are they called?:o:o - my mind having a temporary block - you know the things, where you blow into them, they stretch and roll out and make a 'funny' noise. Bit like the A r'backs and what A is doing on the public - perhaps the joke on them when they rolled out to highest price and sounded the funny sound, then roll back a bit. Perhaps this trivialisation of the matter and of us is how the supermarkets, and their game, works? It's all a big party-popper etc. game!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Well long story told, and not cut short:rotfl:, I replaced the McCartneys with the 'more expensive' Quorn. Quick alternative there. I was a bit more doubtful about the Quorn sausages and whether they would compare vs M - they don't appear to be in all of my M stores and also showing N/A on msm, so aren't in the store in Warwickshire from where the M deliveries are made, perhaps I'm wrong on that - is that the case? - so I thought this was a risk and may be an N/A. I was prepared for that to happen but, in the event, it compares!!:T:T It works out even slightly cheaper than the Linda McCartney (£1 in M) might - same number and weight - and no need to get caught up in the 3 for £5 mbuy on the Quorn in A:D:D - even though 99p (less 10%):eek:, no good really as it's without any glitch (to make it a lot cheaper than that).
But - at least for this weekend - those who are not brand-rigid, and if not subject to Northern Ireland checks which don't compare vs Morries - if you were going to get Linda McCartney can get Quorn version instead for very very slightly cheaper, but may help you if need to spend about 50p more. Sains. style:D:D:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:. But getting the 50p or so plus an extra penny (possibly two) back!:T
Phew - that was a lot written on one shop:rotfl::rotfl::o:rotfl:.0 -

If it works should be £2.25 vs £1, giving apg of £1.35.
