Many thanks for all the anniversary wishes. We went out and used our last GR voucher, then had a lovely lunch in Carluccios.

:T:T:TQoC on your debt free status. I bet you feel fantastic :T:T:T

MKS if you still want somewhere to use your GR, we have SS here if you're passing, and you could always pop into T for some gammon - they have both smoked and unsmoked with "qualifying status" ;)

  • Afternoon :)
My DD has a couple of wee friends who live in our block who are the same age and she's often out playing with them, but the 2 from next door have started just wandering in whenever they feel like it. I have said to them that they can't do that, but it doesn't seem to put them off :/ I don't want to be mean to them but at the same time I don't them wandering into my house whenever tickles their fancy. Does anyone know what the parenting etiquette on this please?!

I had this bother when DS was younger, some kids would even walk in and help themselves to stuff out of the fridge, freezer or cupboards. DS didn't even have to be in the house!
We spoke to the more approachable parents about it stating we didn't mind them being in but would like them to wait until we're let in. They told their kids to knock and wait to be asked in.
The other parents were the sort you wouldn't say anything to them about their 'little angels' (these were the kids lifting stuff to eat from the kitchen) so we got round this by keeping the door locked while they were in the street  this solved that problem and they stopped.
I'm not saying you have to go to that extreme of always having it locked but locking the door for a short while will make them think it'll always be locked so they don't even try to open it after a while.
