For all my recent moans about petrol prices increasing, I think the price may have come back down again? A little.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2766915/Revealed-The-car-makers-tricks-boost-MPG-claims-leave-drivers-forking-400-year-petrol.html

Seems the message is never to trust anyone about anything ever.

Separately, in that article, I notice the spokesperson for the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders is quoted as including the following:

"...the vast majority of motorists understand that there will typically be a difference between these results and real-world driving."

 I'm not saying this is untrue, but I wonder whether there is any substantiation of this claim. Do they? Where's the evidence?

It should be coming down at the pumps....it's less than €100 a barrel and still sliding

Probably been answered already, but try and use it...nothing to lose

If they notice, then it's oh gosh didn't realise how silly of me etc :o

If they do notice, then try again another day ;)

If it was a APG I would just use it, if it was a MOC then I don't think I would. APG are there own vouchers so really the date is only there to catch you out :) How many times have you bought something only to find out its either out of date or near the use by.

    Thanks TM.

It's really hard to dislodge someone once they mean something to me. Even if they hurt me. It will take a good long while for me to be ok again, just because I'm like that.

But I'm very fortunate to have excellent online and offline friends :)

    Of course it's hard eeeeemapp

I always now park my car next to ds3 disabled space so if someone parks in it we park his car on the yellow lines one side with the badge out so it's ok till 10am as the wardens don't start till 7am and I move my car up against the car in ds3 space:)
One hopes that one checks that the car in the space also does not have a disabled badge :p

OMFG! It's bloody freezing tonight. This is my first night without a 6 pack (of crisps!) in bed. Wish me luck y'all. It's not even 10 and all I can think of is Walkers, Monster Munch, Quavers, Skips, Snaps, I think you get the picture. It's going to be a very long long night.

I know I am going to hell in a handcart

That aside, FC this cold thing sounds like more than a cold, hopefully you will be springing back up tomorrow but...maybe some more rest is needed..or a visit to the doc? :A

Yes, I'll go to the docs in the morning. I have a temperature which probably needs checking out.

I had a splenectomy a long time ago. Other than one occasion years ago when I got very poorly indeed through an infection, it hasn't had any other adverse affect on me (other than making me fastidious about germs :o ) but I suppose some infections have symptoms like colds? So I'll get it checked out. I have never experienced such a total lack of energy

Oh no need to apologise at all, I understand it must be frustrating, but the fact remains people are entitled to park there. I'm sorry your council won't enforce permits as being near a station must be far more annoying than just 9-5 parking!

Perhaps the station wasn't there when you moved in, but the city centre has already been there and surely on street parking ought to be a consideration when buying the house. If parking right outside someone's house is a priority they should have a driveway, or ask the council for a disability space if needed.....as there is no disability space it appears the aggrieved resident is just wanting to park there for convenience which I'm afraid isn't my problem.

Have you tried a petition for permit parking?

In Bristol they've got resident parking zones where people have to pay to park outside their houses in a 3 mile radius of the city centre.

I sit in both camps, I like the idea of commuters not parking that close but it means I have to use the bus to get to and from work

All caught up, at last :j

I too have problems with parking, well, other people parking. I live in a Close with 6 houses in it. Situated between primary and middle schools.

Whilst I don't mind mums parking on a school run I do object when they leave their cars all day and park blocking my drive  I politely asked the culprit if she could park on the other side of drive way so I could get out.

Her reply to me was "you shouldn't live near schools if you have a problem then". I wouldn't care but we've lived here 28 years, all 4 of my boys attended both schools :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I live by a school and doctors surgery. I've lost count of the number of times I've had access to my drive blocked by the school run. If it's not been the school run its been people going to the doctors.

There are parking restrictions and single yellow lines on the road in front of my driveway and either side. I've left my car in the middle of the street sometimes when I can't get on, or near my drive

The response I get when I point out the yellow lines- "I've got a disabled badge, I can park where I like":mad:

Have you got a dropped kerb ?

all a dropped kerb means round here is that it's easier to park on the pavement :mad:

S will perhaps be hoping to take the battle to Aldi and Lidl through their new 50% joint venture in Netto In UK launching this Autumn. If it works they can then potentially hit the budget end of the market without alienating their core middle/upper market.
