A few years ago all these tins/tubs weighed over a kilo - they shave off a few grams every year but the tins look more or less the same size. Crafty/devious marketing ploy but they all do it and seem to think we won't notice. We aren't as daft as they think though !

Well as you know I had to phone an ambulance last night for OH
Have been told he will be in there another night but is stable

Meanwhile, just before phoning ambulance I had just booked a c&c t order to take advantage of the £12 offvoucher that was posted. I booked to collect it between 10 - 12. Been a bit franctic this morning and not much time to collect it now. Its just down the road from the hospital too, and visiting hours are 2.30 onwards. Do you think it would be ok to get my c&c at 2pm. Its mostly toilet rolls :rotfl: The few frozen/chilled stuff I get can put in a cool box. Not sure how to contact t's about this. There is no c&c 12-2 either.

This is not strictly true.

The only doctors who can pick and choose their hours are locum doctors (about 5-10% of UK doctors). The majority of doctors (90+%) cannot pick their hours. They are given a rota and they have to stick with it. You can swap like-for-like shifts (night shift for a night shift, 8-5 day shift for another 8-5 day shift etc.) but you can't just say to the rota co-ordinator 'I'm not doing that night shift because I feel like it'. You also cannot take annual leave when you're on-call.

Could you imagine a system where all doctors pick and choose their shifts?

The least busiest day in a hospital is probably Christmas day, with the busiest probably being Boxing Day. Personally, my household would be happy to celebrate Christmas on Boxing Day if it meant I'd have a stress free day at work on 25th December.

No anti b's as he doesnt have an infection but yes steroids usually do the trick. Also he can have too much oxygen as he retains carbon dioxide, so of course he cant have home oxygen. He's got to stay in at least another night. Mind you they often tell him that to keep him calm and he ends up in there all week :eek:

sorry about your oh being poorly, hope he is home with you and feeling better soon, :A I would ring the local store you collect from and explain to them so they know you will be late
