Good posts about the NHS Karlie and QoC, I personally think for the majority of us it's what makes us proud of the UK.
What makes me sad is that hospital workers are put under that sort of pressure in the first place
Interestingly enough, I have just returned from the hospital, where I nearly had a row with my dh because he was whingeing to me about the waiting the entire time we were there - I do keep explaining to him that it's not the fault of the people there doing the work, but patience isn't his strong point (he's not coming with me next time)
I have some very strong feelings about the outcome of the reform that we have recently had and I don't think it has done any good at all. For me personally, it has turned a job that I was very lucky to have into something I endure to pay the bills. Many of my colleagues, even though we never see a patient, have been affected to the extent that they are in tears daily or having to take time off sick (which of course increases the stress due to the systems in place to go down disciplinary routes for taking sick) and relationships with colleagues across organisations that were once very good are now looking quite frayed from all the politics. I have nothing but sympathy for people who do the actual work (by this I mean the people who provide the health care), because I can only assume it's worse.Final cigarette smoked 02/01/18
