Issue with Tesco/RBS 0% BT fee...

Can anyone help or advise?
I have recently taken out a Tesco credit card mainly for the 12 months 0% BT option.
I have completed a BT and recently recieved my first statement. On the satement the 2% BT fee which I was happy to pay has been put as a purchase, which does not carry the 12 month 0% rate and as such I will be paying interest on the fee, as RBS/Tesco and all other credit card companies clear all 0% balances first the fee will be incurring interest at a very respectable rate for RBS/Tesco.
I have scoured all supplied literature and nothing states the BT fee will be considered a purchase, I haver rung the call centre in an attempt to get some sense with no luck and have no been told to write in?
Is this normal practise by other card issuers or have Tesco/RBS found yet another way to make money?
Any advice and/or recommendations to get this sorted is greatly appreciated, can they actually do this? One final point all information on my statement clearly references BT's so how it can be defined as a purchase really has confussed me.
Thanks in advance for any help/advice.

I dont know the answer here and you are right to pursue this but how much are we talking about here.
Assuming you BT £1000 so the fee is 2% i.e. £20 and lets say APR on purchases is 15% so your total interst over the year will be £3.00... OK the principle is important but we are talking £3 here?0 -
According to the summary box 'allocation of payments' information, the first item to be repaid (with your minimum payment) is "interest and/or charges". I suspect the BT fee sits within this category because I don't recall anyone complaining of this before with RBSG cards (like they do with Egg & LTSB)
However, and as the summary box states, you should refer to condition 2D(b) in your credit agreement (of which I can't find a copy online) for further details.

I got the card just a month, so I can't answer the question really. I did pay off the min payment + the transfer fee and left the transfer balance there. I believe they should not charge me interest after 3 months. Well, as the interest rate so high now, it doesn't really matter, but I will write to them to complain if they do charge me interest.0
