New Job, Lazy Colleagues

I've recently taken a 2nd job, which is now classed as my "main" job.
I've been here a month and although I love the job, I'm starting to hate working with the other staff.
Reasons; well they're just damn right lazy. Not only that I just seem to be the only one in on time.
Last week one new (started same time as me) employee was "sick" but they didn't call in sick, they didn't bother to let anyone know, including the manager. Nothing was said to the staff member
One employee is continually late daily, infact they were 2 hours late one day last week. The manager said to make it "fair" since I was working alone until they turned up, I was allowed to go 20 mins early. Personally I don't see an exchange for 2 hours to 20 mins a fair deal, but I wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth.
Employees will "disappear" to lunch just as important/difficult jobs come in and need doing, leaving it to muggins to complete alone.
I was on my feet all day and I only got to sit down for 2 mins, I then had a staff member who has only been working there for 4 months, moan that I was being lazy (this is the one who's always in late). I couldn't help but point out he had gone for 5 "fag" breaks which were 15 mins long and his 30 min lunch and I hadn't even had my lunch break yet, nor do I smoke.
That and the constant school playground feel, everyone trying to belittle everyone else, playing pranks on people, including throwing water over them (and no it wasn't for a good cause like the ice bucket challenge), putting bin bags over employees heads when they're trying to work. The sort of stuff you expect from children who don't know better, unfortuantley this is full grown adults doing it infront of management, I mean I can take a joke, but this stuff is stupid.
I understand as a "newbie" we're required to learn the job, but I feel like personally I'm given all the tasks, whilst all other staff just sit there messing about.
The job I have is something I do as a hobby and I have a lot of enthusiasm for, and a lot of knowledge in... If I show either enthusiasm or knowledge for it, I get taken the p*** out of, because basically they don't care, it's just a job to them.
I feel like there is no "team" and that everyone is out for themselves, this is pretty disappointing in my eyes since I'm use to working in close knit teams.
Turns out before I arrived there has been a lot of people leaving, and the main management is leaving end of next month and the assistant manager wants to leave but hasn't found a new job yet.
I'm currently looking for a new job (yet again) since I feel with the current staff are making me feel like I don't want to go to work. I have mentioned the fact I'm unhappy to my manager (which I said to him I was going to keep quiet since I had only been there a month) and he had a word with all of us and told us that it wasn't directed at anyone, but to quit the behaviour. It hasn't stopped.
Am I right to jump ship, like everyone else is wanting to?

You need to become more assertive. The others have your measure and are playing you.
Little point in going to management as they are aware of the situation but unable to resolve.
You may find the same again if you change jobs.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0 -

What would you suggest? I feel I can't go OI where do you think you're going since i'm so new.0 -
Can you change you attitude towards them - I'm guessing not or the question wouldn't be asked.
You may be better going with the flow rather than trying to fight it, especially if you are lacking confidence and are new. I appreciate this may not be your preferred route but until you are in a better position don't rock the boat.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0 -

Well I'm being stupidly nice currently lol I don't think I could be any nicer. So the other option is to be less nice lol. Not sure that will work.
Like I said I love the job, i don't wanna quit and am hoping new manager will bring order to the work place.
I ended up locking up last week since manager was off and no one wanted the responsibility.0 -

Why are other people leaving, do they not like the culture either? Is that the only reason? High staff turnover should be a concern to managers, like rats and sinking ships.
It's a real shame you've found a job in an area you're passionate about and feel you can't hang around, I hope you get a job in the same area. Is the manager aware that his words have fallen on deaf ears? He's done the right thing in speaking to everyone but if it's not working, he needs to take further action imho.
On a more general note, I've never had a job without lazy colleagues. I've always just got on with it, even where it means doing work others should be doing. It's bought me lots of opportunities and a lot more variety in my work, followed in the long term by better pay. My gain, lazy person's loss.
In my last role there was one person who was unbelievably lazy and made life very difficult for the team. He was a sneaky so and so, making it difficult for managers to sack him. He was the only member of the team to go when there were staff cuts.
Best of luck in finding your new job.0 -

I questioned something a staff member did, not because it was wrong just that I believed there was a more efficient way. He then shouted to another staff member stating that I had said they didn't know their job. I was absolutely gobsmacked and was too shocked to defend myself. So they had an attitude with me for several days after.
I said to my boss that they twist things and make something out of nothing. He told me not to rise to them and don't waste my breath trying to help them0 -
If there are serious productivity issues then there are things that can be done.
Where does the buck stop financialy,
If there is a business whats stopping setting up a rival?0 -

I know you said the manager is a lazy so and so as well but what about the owner?Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0

If the manager is changing it is likely that the culture will change too, and I would incline to wait it out and see what happens. Have you thought about aiming for the assistant managers role? But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.
