It depends on what you call "reasonable". Dubai isn't the cheapest place in the world. £50 a night won't get you much but there will be a lot to choose from once you get over £100 a night. At the upper end there is no limit to what you could spend.
The two main areas for hotels are
1) Sheikh Zayed Road
2) Along the beach road (Jumeirah Road)
Both have loads of hotels and malls and it's easy to get around by taxis or the new Metro. Nobody walks anywhere in Dubai as it's so hot. Eating in the food courts and restaurants in the shopping malls can be reasonable but alcohol is expensive everywhere.0 -
We stayed at the Ibn Battuta Gate Hotel. No beach but there is a free shuttle bus to a beach.
The metro is a 7 min walk to get to all the malls which is around 4 AED each way. Not sure of the cost as we got it in a deal via travel zooThe Cabbage

There is an excellent Dubai forum on TAtravelover0

If you don't want to drink in your hotel, Sharjah is a tenner away in a taxi and there are some relative hotel bargains there0

Kasi222 you seem to answering a lot of queries today but very few make sense. In what way is the Burj a reasonably priced hotel by anyones' standards? You may be a millionaire, although if you are on this site you must have got lost somewhere but the Burj starts at 8629 AED a day including tax which equates at todays rates to £1438 a night0

So a question about where to stay at reasonable price is answered with a place costing £1500/night? :-$
BTW question about cost of eating out, you can pay pennies or hundreds of pounds. Pennies (eg earlier this year had some dahl for Dh3 - 50p) in the areas where migrant labour live and shop, fortunes (there's no upper bound - there will always be someone ready to accept your money) at the 7* hotels. There's something to suit every budget.0 -

Good old Premier Inn offer excellent value plus there's a good English bar and restaurant doing familiar grog and tucker at a very reasonable price.
There's one at the airport,Silicon Oasis and Investments Park - all offer free shuttle to beaches and malls.

I've stayed at Investment Parks - cheap and everything you need plus a small pool on the roof.
Good pint in the bar and the pie and chips were top-notch.
There's also a small shopping arcade nearby.0
