Lino including screed

Hi all,

We have just got this quote through and wondering if people think it is about right for flooring. Our current laminate flooring is rotten due to leaky doors. Once the doors are fixed we plan to get Lino put down.

19sqmts

Lino @ 10.99 = 208.81
Fitting of Lino @ 4.00 = 76.00
Sealent and spray glue = 9.98
Uplift old wood and clear from site = £45
Stop gap screed and milk = 171.96
Labour = 120.00
Primer 121 = 22.99

Does this sound about right? I was also wondering what the fitting costs were if labour is listed separately. Will query it if no one knows but thought maybe it was something obvious I was missing.

Thank your in advance for your help.
Overdraft = £1000 Emergency fund = £2500
Competition wins 2015 = £1400

labour and fitting of lino should be all one price ...

    I would question it.

Ive never seen it put like this.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
  • Do you mean Vinyl flooring ?
Lino means linoleum, a Linseed oil + cotton based natural product.
I do Contracts, all day every day.

Just spoke to oh and he thinks it is labour for the screed which actually makes sense :)

  • About an hours work to screed the floor with a cup of tea thrown in.
Not a bad rate £120 an hour.

He has to remove existing floor covering

Prime the floor and allow to dry, most decent flooring fitters I know give 2 coats, takes 30-60 mins to dry between

    Mix and pour screed

Its easily 2-3hrs and then a return trip 48hrs to lay vinyl. I would expect to pay a half day rate

It still seems daft to have 2 labour charges.

My husband was a decorator and it would be like him putting
    down

    Labour to prepare surfaces £xxx

    Labour to Paint surfaces £xxxx

  • Mckneff I think it was to give us options should we want to have the vinyl without the screed

  • Is this a LVT or a sheet Vinyl.

seems cheap at 10.99 for LVT

There are click versions of LVT now that go down floating not glued

£45 in the quote for that

They could do that themselves and save the disposal costs, might even be enough good bits to have a freecycler lift and collect it.
