Hi all/anyone....
I ve been careless and ignored CEL letters re co op parking and not responded in any way (thinking it was a scam as the letters look so fake) and now I ve had a `judgement for claimant `(still looks fake ) for £165 can someone plz advise me what to do next?
Ive also had a letter from GL recovery service saying I may have a CCJ against me so I may need their help! I dont have any other depbts or defaults against me so it must be related to CEL stuff.
thanks

'.......GL recovery service saying I may have a CCJ......' The 'may' makes me wonder if it has gone that far
Did you also ignore/destroy Court papers, headed Letter Before Action, or Letter before County Court Claim?
I can find no debt collection outfit by this name, or any incorporating initials GL, although there is this firm of solicitors and notaries, Bristol-based:

You need to read the Newbies Thread thoroughly and absorb what you are reading to understand what point you are at, with particular attention to dates.
Have you done a free credit ref. check via Noddle? If you see anything there, ring them on Monday and find out if it originated in a Court.

@Ampersand with all due respect - that advice you have given is poor advice and based on not clear enough facts.
You have not seen the letters to make such a qualified bold statement .
To the OP - CEL have been issuing court claims which are genuine and should not have been ignored. If you have received a judgment for claimant letter is it highly likely to be genuine and you should simply pay the judgment which will then remain on your credit file unfortunately for six years.
You can always check your credit file - Experian or Equifax for details
which you can apply for a nominal fee of about £2.00
or
Even sign up for a free 30 day trial via quidco or Topcashback and get paid for it too:)
the CCJ will remain on your credit file for six years.
It costs £155.00 to apply to get one overturned but that depends on you
a) having grounds for this -limited time scale plus throwing or ignoring papers will not wash with the court.
b) Not paying the amount.
c) the problem does not disappear and will need to be defended again.
d) or you could attempt to negotiate with CEL/CO-OP in this respect/ possibly with removal of CCJ - but will need specialist letter and advice.0 -
Apologies 4cr[ and op] if you are referring to my 1st sentence
'If this parking event was pre-Oct 2012, continue ignoring.'
when you say this:
'you have not seen the letters to make such a qualified bold statement.'

Had several windows open looking for ref.s and failed to remove that 1st sentence. Otherwise, the rest stands.
Noddle is free to use for credit ref., which is why I suggested it, but ' a free 30 day trial via quidco or Topcashback and get paid for it too' re: experian/equifax is useful:-)

Amps - even if this was pre-October 2012 - you do NOT ignore any court papers - just that RK cannot be held liable ... sometimes though you will find that foolishly people have divulged at some point they were driving..
I see also you edited your post removing some of the advice that this was not a real CCJ.0 -
No, didn't do so 4cr, but now see that original 1st and last sentence went back again - dkw.
Posted techie problems again earlier.
Rest was/is untouched.
'I see also you edited your post removing some of the advice that this was not a real CCJ' -
No, I didn't express that[underlined], but showed op how he/she can see whether any bona fide ccj appears on a credit ref. site.
A call on Monday to any Court ref. found there would clarify, given that Redx posted this re: CEL on another Thread yesterday:
CEL can and do issue court papers, from BARNET, possibly via Salford MCOL and not Northampton MCOL
Of course Court papers must never be ignored: 6 years have not yet passed[12 if debt 'under seal']in broad brush terms.
Have you come across a debt collecting outfit incorporating 'GL'? We have no location, but are you aware of those Bristol-based solicitors being used to obtain redress?
Their sectors heading includes Transport and Logistics, but there is no ppc involvement that I can find.
They don't strike me as a firm needing to fish for business, but:

What do you think?
What we'd like to see is op posting pics like this:-)
