Switching-Beware if you need to bank via your Post Office Local

I recently switched from Santander to Halifax. Switch went like a dream.
Struggled a bit to get a Paying In Book and Envelopes to pay cheques in at my local Post Office (I live in the sticks!).
Then found that I can't pay in cash, either using the debit card or a paying in slip. Reason is my PO is a Post Office Local and doesn't accept paying in with payslip (Halifax requirement), only with card.
Had I switched to HSBC or CoOp or First Direct or Smile, or alternatively I go to a Sub or Main Post Office - no problem.
See Post Office website - It has a list of banks that supports paying in with card.
PS. No problem withdrawing money or checking the balance.

Isn't that your own fault for not checking that the bank you were switching to offered the service you use quite a lot?
No point complaining about something you didn't check, is there!?Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0 -
I didn't read the OP as a complaint,. More like a warning to others.0

No complaint. I did check first. After my cash was refused, discovered that Halifax wasn't aware that there was a restriction at a Post Office Local and hadn't been informed by the Post Office. Conversely, the Post Office website also doesn't say that there is a restriction at Post Office Locals (which are a fairly new concept). The Post Office rep said that she would look into updating their site and informing affected banks and building societies of the restriction. These Locals are a new (paperless) concept - open same hours as the shop they're in on a reduced salary! Many replacing sub-post offices, I understand.
Halifax gave me £40 (not asked for) for my trouble  ! Perhaps they'll eventually update their systems and also go paperless, then we'll all be happy!0
