Instead of a hanging basket????

Afternoon Peeps
Well my hanging basket by the front door, is only fit for the bin:p, I would like to replace it with something a bit different and am well out of any inspiration.................
Come on guys n gals, help me out if you can, any ideas much appreciated

I think the topiary balls can look quite nice, they're a little bit different and can stay year around. If you're not very green fingered, you can get some nice artificial ones too.
As well as standard green ones, you can get ones with things like heather in, for a splash of colour, or decorate them with solar lights.

Ive got a couple either side of my front door. They looked ok when they were new but look undecidedly shabby very quickly.
Cant get hubby to replace them though.
i,d just quietly get rid of them and pretend somebody stole them. He may not even notice they've disappeared.

How about a small concrete classical statue of some kind? But please, not a garden gnome !0 -

my neighbors have 6 topiary balls and have decked each one lovingly with solar fairy lights... yuk!
