Post Office Travel Money card

I've used a PO Travel Money card for about two years and when I tried logging in via the mobile app I am told that my card has been cancelled (with €265 still on it).
I logged in via the web on PC and it was asking me to "activate" the card .... why after all this time? When I tried to activate it said the details were incorrect.
I called the helpline and they were unable to find my card!!!
After a few agonising minutes the account was found and the card was activated.
Now concerned that had I tried to use it in France this week it would have been rejected.
Lost confidence in the card now.....
Anyone else with similar woes?
