Airport Hotel and Parking - Not using hotel??

I hope someone might be able to help with this.
I've left booking airport parking a bit later than I usually would and it is a bit more expensive than I would normally pay. Looking on Holiday Extras I noticed that booking parking and a night at Ramada Encore (Birmingham) was cheaper than off site parking alone (£55 v £42). What are people's thoughts/experience of just using the parking element?
My thought was to 'check in' and then check out straight away. We've parked there before but actually stayed the night for an early morning flight.
Thanks in advance.

Check out at most hotels is automatic the next day so there's most likely no need for you to physically do it.
Some have key drops-but TBHO so long as you're room is vacant-and you've already paid-the hotel don't care.0 -
I would stil have a chat with them first though. These types of offers are usually cheaper than their normal rate, even with parking included.
They may, however be a bit funny if you just check in, pay the bill and then walk out again, as they may depend on bar bills, food etc to subsidise the room rate you have got. It may not be as simple as you think.
Last thing you want is your car clamped when you arrive back from your holidays and have to pay £100 to unclamp it. If they wanted to let people use their car park without staying a night, then they would offer it, but they don't, which IMO means they are expecting some extras to be applied to your booking.0 -
So unless you spend a fortune at the bar, you are getting your car clamped ?
I really cant see anything wrong with the above plan.
The rate is what it is, to fill rooms that would otherwise be empty.0 -

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
The OP will be pre-paying (via Holiday Extras) so there will be no need to physically check out or "have a chat"
The hotel may expect to get some F&B revenue but will not be too bothered if it doesn't as the room will be filled.
Why the heck would they clamp the car, when you've paid for it to be parked there?0 -
What makes you know 100% that they wont?:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Unless you speak to them, you don't know, we haven't seen the T&C's of the booking, so we don't know if there are any provisions in place with it.
I have stayed in hotels before, which have stated the offer of the room at that price, is dependant on eating in their restaurant during the stay. How do we know it doesn't have something like that in it too? OP couldn't eat in the hotel, if they are safely aboard a flight jetting off to the sun !
it does actually state on their &C's that you have to make use of ALL of the booking, so in effect IMO, that would mean use of the hotel. You are not in the OP's position, so my advice still stands OP, speak to the hotel beforehand0 -

That's ludicrous. I must have stopped in hundreds of hotels on business and pleasure and I've never known one insist that you to eat in their restaurant. How would they enforce it anyway?
If the room and parking is pre-paid then why should they care if you use the room or not? If you don't then it will save them the time and cost of cleaning it.0 -
Just check in and leave the car, no risk and there is not normally anything in terms and conditions about eating and drinking there
Or I would even ring and offer them £40 just to park there. Of the price you pay, the agent takes about 20% so they will be up on the deal anyway..
(I worked at an airport hotel near here, and we got a lot of bookings from APH and HE!)0 -
Just looked at the Holiday Extras site for this offer as we often park at Birmingham long stay (now called car park 5), but checking the details for Ramada parking I see that you have to take your car to Mackadown Lane in Garratts Green and then get shuttle bus from there. I'll stick with long term parking at the airport as you can walk to the terminal from there or get shuttle bus which takes 2 minutes and is reasonably priced.0

Do you really believe all of that.
Which hotel has insisted you eat in their restaurant?
OP you will be fine and as has been said you wont even have to check out if you have prepaid or paid on arrival0 -

I agree, dont trust these off site operators much. Car park 5 is operated by NCP, there are often discount codes floating around the web but at the very least there is 10% cashback if you go via Topcashback.0
