  • Good morning all,

    Birthday wishes to those celebrating.
Big hugs and well wishes to anyone who needs them.

It was really dark and misty this morning but is slowly brightening up,not a chance of sun today tho. Had quite a bit of rain yesterday/last night (not that the weeds need any help!).
Day of washing/cleaning today. DD is here this weekend so will be sitting down to homework in a moment. Need to pop to M's later for carrots and broccoli for tomorrows roast, dad is joining us as mum is working so hopefully all goes well!

Just catching up with a few programs from during the week-mainly cookery.
DD is voting dippy egg and toast fingers for lunch, i will have fried egg on toast. Not sure about tea yet,i had a meal plan all worked out but things have changed slightly :o:o Unorganised this week...possibly jackets potatoes and salad or Hm pizza.

Have good days everyone :hello: xx
  • BB how about a bowl of stewed apple with some custard? also can you have/manage tinned rice pudding because it's filling. Then there's hummus and guacamole which both travel well and maybe a chopped salad with some really ripe skinned tomatoes and finely chopped olives and maybe a squeeze of garlic puree and some olive oil? maybe with a soft cheese dollop on top to give you some protien, will pm you if I can come up with anything else, Lyn xxx.
  • Afternoon....((((((((((((((Hugs))))))))))))))) if you need one.

Lie in this morning, so 10am before I got the feet on the ground. Quite a bit got done though.

Just had lunch OH is off to have his siesta, I am going to crash on the settee and read.

Sausage, mash, cabbage and carrots for supper. I made an apple and blckberry crumble last night, should do for tomorrow as well. Too a piece of loin of pork out to roast for tomorrows supper.
  • Lillyplonk, hundreds of names have been discussed, at one point the names Valerie & Joleen were in the running & DGS, who is 10 suggested the two names be combined to make Vaseline, I have a horrible feeling Vaseline might become her nickname.
I will always comment favourable on any name they choose as I was devastated when I called my DD Cassandra & my ex MIL said it was a stupid name & insisted on calling her Sandra.
DGD is here, as is very large dog, they are forming a mutual adoration society, we've been to the aquatic shop & DD has chosen 6 guppies for the tank. We have also collected another bag of conkers.
    Hugs Hester
    Chin up, Titus out.

:rotfl: at dgs. Typical big brother - insults from 'the get-go'!

They could combine Joleen and Valerie the other way around - to make Jolie (French for 'pretty') :j - though, I guess 'Vaseline' might STILL get brought up occasionally by her big brother in later years rolleyes.gif

    Hi everyone
Feeling quite bereft this afternoon and wondering how many others could be feeling the same? My brother and I are just home from taking my eldest DD to uni in Leeds. Very early start as 3 hour journey each way.....well 4 on the way back.....unpacked the car and had a cuppa with her before leaving her. She's so excited to go, but very nervous today and it felt so awful leaving her there all by herself. I know she'll love it once she gets settled, but just doesn't feel right.
We passed lots of other cars stuffed full and looking like they were making the same journeys.
15 year old DD has just told me that it's only 10 Fridays till Christmas and she'll be home!

    Evening all,

((((hugs)))) TTFTM. I still think your asking too much of yourself after all, its not been too long ago since you had surgery. Be kind to yourself. I saw a notice in Boots today saying if you've had a cough for more than three weeks, get it checked out at the doctors.

Busy day for me. Up and out early. Grocery shopping and I had to collect a prescription from Boots the chemist. Ok, they might have been short staffed I can forgive them for that. 40 minutes was the estimated waiting time for my prescription to be dispensed. 60 minutes later I was still waiting.... only to be told they hadn't got two of my items and I needed to come back! Blasted livid I was. I didn't want to come back so I said I'd have my prescription back. 'We've started dispensing your medication' the woman moaned. 'How hard is it to dispense 3 tubes of cream?' I asked. She gave me back my prescription.

Hubby has been looking at cars again. He says his isn't big enough. Oh dear, we have gone down this path so many times.

Quiet evening in I hope. I did suggest going to see the outlaws this evening. Not that I particularly want to but if we don't go to theirs they come to us and they stay for hours. It wouldn't be a problem but I don't like his sister very much.

Onwards but going at a slow pace because I'm tired,

    have a good evening all.
