Unusual questions about reclaiming bank charges

Hi All,

I've started the process of trying to reclaim my bank charges from LloydsTSB after a horrendous year of penalties following redundancy. I've sent numerous letters requesting repayment of said charges but have had no response whatsoever from the bank.

My questions are:-

1/ I'm now using the online Govt Moneyclaim system to escalate the claim to the courts and am required to enter the defendants address. However, I'm unsure whether to use my local branch address, my Premier account address (Lloyds have multiple different account types with different administrative addresses), or whether to use the Collections address, since management of my account was handed over to the collections centre while I was out of work. Any advice?

2/ I was wondering about the possibility of claiming additional compensation for time wasted by the bank in allowing this to proceed to court, and recompense for financial hardship caused (the charges total about £1800, and even though I'm now back at work and earning a decent wage again I just can't get up to date with my other creditors due to LLoyds seconding so much of my salary in fines - thus I'm now getting fined by the creditors too - a 'snowball' effect). If I can claim compensation how would I calculate how much is due, and how can I add it to the claim form? Has anyone else done this?

Many thanks,

E

In answer to Q.1 the addresses are listed here for court claims:
    Addresses To Use For Court

In answer to Q.2 you can file for a wasted costs order and this thread on CAG has lots of information about it:
    Wasted Costs Order

Regarding financial hardship though no, you cant sorry but you may be able to reclaim the 'fines' from your other creditors on the same premise as unlawful bank charges so thats something to look into.

Good luck with your claim :)
