Samsung ue32h5500 SMART tv - cannot download content

Options
Brand new TV , connected to router easily and gets on www ok.
But when trying to load BBC iPlayer ( for example), it says " This function is not supported". I get the same error on every other app I have tried as well.
I have tried Support > Self Diagnosis > Smart Hub Connection Test and it told me there was a problem downloading apps (!) and that i needed to update my tv software.

I checked this and found that Auto software update is ON, I then tried manual update of software and it says that it is already the current version ( 2116)

Any thoughts please?

Think its to do with BBC's iPlayer codec/encryption change earlier this year. Certain smart tv's have needed updates, normally its a case of waiting for the manufacturer to update, could always email Samsung which may prompt them.
  • Thanks krisdorey,

do you think that would affect the ability to download any app?
  • Doubt it i am 2116 and iplayer amazon prime and all work fine, is your telly using wireless or ethernet?

An after thought ....are you pressing the down button after pressing the hub button or even the ok (window with enter like button ie a screen with a left turn symbol on it) ?

It takes a little while for the TV to download the apps when new, try again after 24 hours.

You do need a decent internet connection speed though.
