Well my friend did...
Basically, he was in carphone warehouse today upgrading to an iphone 6.....he signed the paper work and the chap passed him the bag with the ihone 6 in it.......he then gave him another bag (my friend thought the starter pack was in this bag) and my friend left! But in that 2nd bag was an iphone 6!!!
It wasnt until he got home he realised!!
Where does my friend stand! He hasnt stole anything, its the shops error?

Morals as skewed as your punctuation, op.
Do you really have to ask? What sort of friend are you?CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

If your "friend" signed up for a contract they have his name , address and bank details. Think about it.
Also the employee didn't "give" it to him -it was an obvious mistake - and one that is likely to get the employee sacked. If that doesn't bother your friend - the fact the guy knows where he lives and who knows what kind of mates he has who might take exception to their mate getting sacked because of your friend's dishonesty.
Legal action *could* be the least of his worries.
Does your "friend" want to take that risk ?I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

It makes you wonder why folk have been queing outside apple stores for days, when they could have simply popped to CPW.
What's a starter pack?
He could keep it or return it, it is when he comes to use or sell it that complications may arise.
If he has 2 handsets, how will he know which one is the contract handset and which one isn't?0 -
I would think CPW would have a note of all the relevant numbers for the phone and sim, and it would be relatively easy for them to disable the phone very quickly once they realise their mistake.
Just like when someone pinches a phone, in fact!"There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -
Regardless of the legalities I would have to return it as I would not be comfortable with myself keeping it.
I recently nearly got two items for the price of one because the checkout person did not realise the two stacked together was two items not one and charged me for one. I realised their mistake and rather than keep quiet and call it a bonus I said are you sure and split the two up clearly showing I should have been charged for two.
The checkout operator said thank you for being honest I felt better about myself and all is right with the world.
However those who are saying the person who gave it you may get the sack if you don't take it back may not be correct, they may get the sack if you do take it back as no one may have noticed, yet. Big companies are often very poor on stock taking as they rely very much on technology and there is an assumption that this is not always accurate. How many times have you reserved an item as it says there is stock only to get to the store and there is no or less stock than they said.
The only thing to be done is the right thing, the right thing is to return it, it belongs to the owner, the store.I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.0 -
