Should I Ignore Parking Eye Letter?

Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere before.

I have received a letter from PE today regarding my car being parked in a spot that wasn't a parking bay in a retail park in Aug 2013.
I ignored the previous letter last year but this letter states that the requirements of Schedule 4 have now been satisfied.
They say if I ignore this letter & not pay the £100 they may issue court proceedings.
What is the likelihood of them doing this & what is my next step?
Shall I continue to ignore or write to them stating my case?

Thanks

  • Ignore them and they will issue court proceedings. Your next step is to read the "newbies" thread at the top of this forum and appeal. You will learn a lot!

Definitely do not ignore the company that will take 30,000 people to court this year.
However I will qualify by checking whether or not you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, where the advice is still to ignore.
Yes go to newbie thread and read (see my signature), but I am curious as to the exact words regarding schedule 4.

    What does it actually say?
Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. Click on words Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. Newbie thread is the first post. Blue New Thread button is just above it to left.

Very likely to take you to court so read the Newbies thread about resetting the clock by naming the driver. No idea why we have to keep saying the same thing when the sticky thread for newbies already covers this - and I am amazed to read someone planning to IGNORE the most litigious PPC when there's a way to appeal this once the driver is named by the keeper.

Yes it was a different driver - you know it was when you think about it! You only have to email the name & address to PE - enforcement@parkingeye.co.uk - and you are back to appeal stage. At least the driver is - and they then just WAIT for their own PCN to arrive, appeal by following the Newbies thread advice, and win at POPLA, as we do very time. That's got to be preferable than a court case where PE are notorious, send lawyers at a loss to get trophy wins which they often succeed in.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
