nexus 7 or iPad mini ?

Help pls. Which should I get? I know there's a new nexus on its way but I can't afford it. Can't spend more than about £230 (have seen mini for £229 or nexus 7 for £169). Any help appreciated. x

They are both nice pieces of kit. Have you gone into a store (eg PC World or Tesco) and had a hands-on use of them ? Might help you make up your mind.
A few questions you need to ask yourself :
What would you be primarily wanting it for ?
Do you already have an account and apps purchased on either Android or IOS ?
Do you have music in iTunes ?

I mainly use android on my phone but tbh I'm a bit clueless so I've never used a tablet for music or movies or photos cause I wouldn't know how to get the former on there or the latter off. I just use it for Facebook and internet mainly and a few apps (I've only got about four). I have a hudl but I'm on my third as they keep being faulty so wanted to get something better this time x

P.s I've got music in iTunes but rarely use it. If they both quite good I'll go into the shops n have a look. I wasn't sure if one was miles better than the other . ty for responding x

  • My son is sat using his Nexus 7 and is very, very happy with it. It's a solid bit of kit and very nippy.

Ultimately it's more a choice of iOS vs Android vs Cost

Im going to say the Nexus 7 as it was a good piece of kit, easy to use, transfer music to it via usb or use google play/amazon music app.

Where you going to get it the Nexus from OP ?

Id get it from John Lewis as you get 2 years guarantee and if you get any problems the staff in the technical department are easy to deal with.

Seems you've made your mind up but just in case it is any use to you.

I've got a Nexus 7 2013 32Gb version. The only real downside to it is that you cannot install a micro SD card to expand the storage but overall the tablet is wonderful. HD res, solid picture on videos, pictures etc. Very fast and responsive. Lasts a decent amount of time on a single charge (you have to use it very heavily to need to charge it after a day's use) and since you're already on Android it can connect and sync information across several Android apps.

The camera is poor but no one really uses a tablet as a camera anyway.

If you buy a micro-USB OTG adaptor and you then need to buy a £1.99 app - then you can plug in USB memory sticks. We've got that going on my son's
