I have been advised to transfer saving from a high street bank to Quilter Cheviot. Any comment?

Seems legit, I'd do it.
Did you know you can double the value of your money by burning it as well?Left is never right but I always am.0 -
I get QC's daily market call in my inbox each morning (snippets from the press, some broker upgrades and downgrades and company news) and also their quarterly commentaries. Sometimes I read it if I have a spare moment on the train, otherwise just file in the 'later' folder and generally don't go back. They are a legitimate wealth management group that occasionally win some niche awards.
However, savings in a high street bank versus a managed portfolio from a wealth manager has an entirely different profile of cost and risk and potential returns. You wouldn't just switch from one to the other without a reason. So, what is your reason, or the reason suggested by the person who advised you to consider switching ??
Of course, if by 'saving with a high street bank' you mean 'have my investments managed by the discretionary management investment services team associated with the high roller's arm of my high street bank' then it may not be such a massive shift of priorities.
But generally DIY high street savings to private wealth management is not an apples to apples comparison.0
