Does anyone know of a cheap alternative to Karndean flooring, or somewhere that sells Karndean at reasonably low prices? Also what are your opinions on the quality and value for money on this type of flooring? All opinions are much appreaciated!

We have it down in two bathrooms I would buy it again. Not sure I would do a big room with it but I have seen it (or Amtico) used in Victorian Villa in their hall and it was fine.

Karndean do a 'loose lay' flooring which is similar to the laminate planks/tiles. Doesn't need a professional to lay and comes in cheaper.

My uncle works in a carpet shop so has been attempting to sway me towards this. I still fancy the quickstep laminate though.
  • TLC or Massimo flooring from most retailers ( they usually buy through Headlam group)
About the same as Karndean Knight but about half the price
Or Cavalio flooring a bit cheaper than Karndean made by Polyfloor ( one of the worlds largest manufacturers
Laminate is Noisy easily damaged by water and cold compared to vinyl stick down

If glue down the fitting is the expensive bit

if floors are good search clip LVT which is the floating floor version made by quite a few places.

decent stuff cost £20+sqm + fitting the cheaper stuff has thinner wear layers.

    luxury vinyl tiles LVT

If I remember correctly - they have three levels of pricing - depending on the quality.
We weren't happy with the B & Q or Homebase tiles, asked a flooring specialist to come around.
Undecided with the samples he left, travelled the 80 miles to the show room in Evesham on a Sunday. Extremely helpful, decided on a mid-range tile, told the fitter - he ordered it and fitted to our pattern - well pleased with the result - looks classy!
