Ride On Mulching Mower

Hello all

A friend has just bought a house with 2.5 acres of garden.

She will obviously need a sit on lawnmower.

Any recommendations on make or model to look at? Budget < £1000.

Also are the mulching ones best for large gardens?

Doubt very much you will find any decent new ride on in that price range.I have a Mountfield 1430H and cannot fault it. The 1430M is £200 less at £1599 and you will be hard pushed to find better value.

A mulching plug is an extra £105 and well worth using providing the grass is dry as you have no no clippings to worry about.

Look for a used machine at that price. John Deere, Husqvarna, etc.
