    Hi

Aw bless. One of the joys of having a puppy is the daft things that they do.
Our boxer Barney (now grown up used to eat anything that got in the way slugs were one of his favourites to lick (he'd find they were nasty, pull a few faces and then 5 mins later go and do it again.)
He was also partial to flowers (it was murder taking him for a walk because anyone with a low wall and a nice garden would have to be avoided)

As someone said earlier puppies have very strong stomachs and will throw up if they have eaten something they shouldn't have. (but the vet will be very understanding if you're worried)

Its a bit like having a naughty toddler really.

  • as we have trees all round our garden, my 2 dogs are partial to the dead baby birds the cat leaves lying around.also ants and rabbit poo! where do they get their unusual tastes from?

I absolutely second that. And eating horse poo too. _pale_

I sometimes think dogs have stomachs like galvanised buckets. :D

Reading the latest updates-in particular Spanky Monkey-I can't recall cooking for that many households......

Arfer has been fine since his little 'experimental recipe' which is more than I can say for my lad who discovered the evil deed! I guess it was a bit mean but I couldn't resist getting a hedgehog shaped loaf at the bakers for yesterday's tea. Poor boy turned green & had crispbreads instead:rotfl: _pale_ :rotfl: I luvem really--honest.

To be serious tho, could pups have marmite & gravy made from powder-not at the same time obviously! I'm making cottage pie for us, & wondered if Arfer could have some too, perhaps for tomorrow. I put in a few herbs-never salt- make the gravy with aaahhhh Bi(g)to(e) & probably bung in the veg too. Just thought-what about the onion?

I know someone has said in another thread that it is the human who thinks the pet needs variety in their meals, but I would like to find other ways to eek out the propriety food, know what he is eating & keep cost down.

  • well i dont have any dogs, but my cat brought home a baby hedgehog the other night....
what he thought he was going to do with it i dont know... but he was sat at the back door howling at it for a while :rotfl:

at least he is not as bad as our other cat who seems to have dubbed himself 'master frog hunter'
he actually ran into the front room with a frog in his mouth last night and tried to give it to us! he looked like he had a giant green (moving) handlebar moustache!

and did you know that frogs scream? there was another one in the garden being harrased by the pair of them, so we shoo-ed the cats away then thought it was only fair to give the frog a fighting chance of getting away....
anytime we went near it to scoot it up to the other end of the garden it screamed its head off....
never heard anything like it and NO-ONE believes me! lol

my mum's puppy (he got hit by a car a few months ago and had to be put down, bless him) got into the neighbours back garden and when my mum eventually rounded him up he was chewing a big ball of hair.

Some of the previous neighbours had been muslim and it is part of islam that when a baby is born the baby's head is shaved and buried in the back garden with the placenta (you can correct me on this, I may be slightly wrong on my facts).

My mum was mortified to think that he'd been digging the neighbour's garden up and was chomping on the little baby's hair. Good job they'd sold the house a few months earlier and moved out so they didn't find out about it.

Until of course I put it on the internet.

Pup was doing fine, & still tries to eat the furniture; pillows; socks bless him! He's beginning to lose his baby teeth so the rungs along thebootom of the coffe table are taking a battering.
He has kennel cough now tho...has been receiving treatment for three full days & we were hoping to be able to take him out tomorrow for his first walk since Tuesday. He has coughed a couple of times this afternoon so what do you guys suggest? Thanks all.....
