Renault Clio misfire
The car started misfiring tonight, I've had this before and had the coil pack replaced. Looked under the bonnet and can see fuel on the cylinder head and ignition coil number 4 is wet with fuel.
I take it I just need to change this and number one and it should be fine or will it be best to change something else.

Checked that spark plug is tight?0

I've not took anything out yet but I'll have a check when changing it0

My sisters Megane went through all of the coils. One after the other.
A code reader should tell you which cylinder you have a misfire on. Swap that with a good one from the opposite cylinder and see if the number changes.
Cylinders numbered right to left not left to right. Renauly Madness.
You mention coil pack and coil on cylinder 4? Which do you have? A pack or a coil for each cylinder?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
I suspect op means the coil pack HT lead rather than a 'coil'0

Fuel visible - I would be looking for a leak somewhere - seals on injectors? Sounds obvious, but please try not to let it ignite!0

Sorry I have a coil on each cylinder, I've just bought 4 and about to change them all. I didn't know they were backwards so thats cylinder 1 thats faulty.
I've also bought some spark plugs just incase.0 -
Yeah cylinder one is on the right hand side. (gearbox end).
As mentioned above though no matter how bad the lead/plug or coil tehre shouldnt be any fuel around the injector.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Just changed the coil and the misfire has gone, looked again and it's not fuel on the cylinder.0
